What is the Harris Poll EquiTrend Study?
The Harris Poll is among the longest-running and most-trusted surveys of U.S. public opinion. Organized by global consulting and market research firm Harris Insights & Analytics, the poll has gauged consumer sentiment in over 300 categories since 1989. The Harris Poll is particularly concerned with consumer trust and perceptions, and which brands stand out in customers’ minds. Measuring consumer’s emotional connection and familiarity with brands, as well as the brands’ influence and impact, the Harris Poll highlights leading names in each category, including the top real estate company.

This year’s EquiTrend study illustrated a desire among consumers to trust and align with the businesses they work with. The homepage for the EquiTrend poll explains, “today’s most successful brand insinuate themselves into people’s lives.
With this in mind, the poll studied the “4 A’s”; accessibility, action, attraction, attachment. Accessibility asks whether a brand has a positive image in a customers’ mind; does the brand operate ethically, produce a quality product, and/or offer outstanding service? Attraction asks if the brand captures customers’ imaginations; does the brand relate to them and inspire them? Action asks whether the brand inspires customers to act; does it help them move past purchasing uncertainty and inspire confidence? Attachment asks whether the brand is a part of the consumer’s mind; do they recognize, understand, and work with them?
When it comes to voting the top real estate company of 2018, customers felt Berkshire Hathaway accomplished these things better than any other real estate company.
